Family: Rubiaceae
Genus: Psychotria
Species: Psychotria viridis
This plant is usually prepared and used together with Banisteriopsis Caapi and other plants, it contains a higher amount of a substance called DMT, the so-called “soul molecule”. The drink that is brewed from a combination of these herbs is usually called “ayahuasca” (read [aya-waska]), “yage” (read [jache]), “natem”, or “liana of the soul” and otherwise.
Chacruna is the common name of Psychotria viridis, a DMT-containing plant from the Amazon rainforest. As its Latin name (Psychotria) suggests, the plant is known for its psychotropic effects. Chacruna is one of the two most commonly used ingredients in the traditional ayahuasca brew. Because of legislation we are not allowed to tell you anything more about the preparation of ayahuasca. The ingredients are legally available, but the healing brew from the Amazon is not.
